McDonald's Happy Meal Transformers Robots in Disguise Toys 2015

An Epic assortment of Transformers Robots in Disguise Happy Meal toys this year. Each Bot looking bright and colorful with even some articulation here or there.

Bumblebee is so yellow it hurts my eyes!

Another Prime for the collection, and Grimlock is pretty fun too.

Really nice features with the two resident Decepticons Clampdown and Fracture. Claws and lights!

Fixit is amazing for a Happy Meal toy, will look good with any collection!

Find these April 2015 at McDonalds!

Transformers Hero Mashers Soundwave and Star Wars The Black Series Darth Vader

More strange review combos with Transformers Hero Mashers Soundwave and Star Wars The Black Series Darth Vader. Both are pretty cool toys, just really different.

Transformers Hero Mashers Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Grimlock, and Maybe Starscream.

The next group of Hero Mashers are out, and Transformers are their game. These are nice as they stay close to the original classics with a few pulled from various other times. They are similar in build to the Marvel, with maybe removable hands this time as well. Optimus Prime and Megatron mid sized sets are pretty fun, with lots of extras. These are worth picking up a few, and maybe some Marvel too, to build some pretty crazy stuff. If you are not into mixing, some make really good stand alone action figures too.

Hex Bug Warriors Transformers Age of Extinction Optimus Prime vs Galvatron

Looks like a nice crossover with Hex Bug Warriors and Transformers, and it makes perfect sense. I always enjoy a little battle arena with the bugs too. Galvatron's batteries were just a little too strong for a fair fight though. I like the little spike wings off of Galvatron. Fun fun!

Transformers Construct Bots Grimlock and Optimus Prime Age of Extinction

Construct Bots are one of those toys that seem to fill up the shelves and never go anywhere, but sometimes they are actually kind of fun to pick one up. They have pretty good size to them, and are more durable than your regular Transformer.

Grimlock and Optimus Prime are a good duo to get, like in the new movie Age of Extinction, Prime does some Grimlock riding. They do this pretty good in toy form. Grimlock has both good robot and dinosaur forms as well (usually the alternate forms are pretty bad).

Evasion Mode Optimus Prime Transformers Age of Extinction Review

A good update to a classic, Evasion Mode Optimus Prime takes on the form or yesteryear. He looks awesome in both modes, and will continue my pile of Primes well.

1985 Kellogg's Starbots! Who remembers these things?

Every now and again I check eBay for Starbots, a legendary 1985 Kellogg's cereal freebie. I finally found a reasonable set that I had to order, So say I did!

The Shuttle and Galaxy ship where icons of my daily play back in the 80's. Transformers were expensive, so these cereal sets were perfect filler. The Galaxy ship, like a little Star Ship Enterprise, was one of my favorite all time toys.

My originals, are long gone. I think I had them both in white, so when I saw silver versions I got really excited to say the least. Amazingly the plastic holds up well, being entombed in the packages for over 25 years. I was sweating that there was not going to be any breaking.  Both the Shuttle and Galaxy ship are really before their time in transformer designs. I swear the front plate of the shuttle looks like Cats Lair though. The Galaxy ship was also used as a weapon/metal detector/floor buffer for my G.I. Joes.

Stickers/instructions were still in the package too, but I am not sure if I really want to crud the Starbots up with them. They are nice reminders of days gone by.

The Plane Starbot also was included. I did not have this one as a kid. It's more of a military Starbot, and not so great of a design. Nice to have though. There is one more Starbot, a helicopter, that I have to find (had my trigger set, but held off, as I don't really care for helicopters.)

This was also included in the set. I don't think its an official Starbot? I really have no idea what it is. The plastic pack was slightly different, but the plastic feels almost the same. I don't have a picture to go off of to build it, any ideas???

It looks really cool what ever it is. Ideas?

Transformers Hoist and Trailcutter Can Do Some Things! Stop Motion

I like these guys so much, they animated themselves for me!

Autobots Trailcutter aka Trailbreaker and Hoist Transformers 30th Anniversary

Bwaaaa? Dan is posting images?

Yeah, yeah, its been a while since an image post. Ha ha, Almost forgot how to do em! Hoist and Trailbreaker break the video streak as they are 80's rad. I didn't realize they were going to be common molds, as I don't look into these things as closely these days, but it doesn't change how awesome they are. The best part is they are super easy to transform. For awhile there, these classics were getting ridiculous in transformation (Ironhide), that I started to pass on them. These 30th anniversary guys Transform back and forth easily in under a minute, and are very sturdy.

Hoist could have used a better bed piece to mimic the classic, with orange rails, but thats nothing big.

Trailbreaker, looks almost near perfect in my world. I remember G1 Trailbreaker clearly, as I broke a friends back in the day. The funny thing now is, I realize, my friend probably already broke him, pieced him together, and let me take the fall. Thats how we did things in the 80's.

"Ungh, whats with the colors, did someone take this photo with their phone cam?"

Autobot Springer Transformers 30th Vehicle Modes

One of the best Transformer toys designed in a long time.

Autobot Springer Transformers Classics 30th

Found a Springer today.

Springer is an original generation Transformer, third season replacement, and a Triple Changer too. It took way too long to finally get a new updated Classics Springer. Overall, he is a high performing toy, with plenty to do. All three forms, Car, Helicopter, and Robot, turn out really well. Springer's colors are nice and vibrant too.

I am too lazy to get into the other forms right now, although he transforms very easily, here is the back of the box instead.

Totally pick one up if you are into Classics and Triple Changers.

Kre-O Transformers Devastator & Superion

Kreon Devastator his been busy doing construction on set...

I like these guys. They are good for the buck, as there are several stages of setup. I skipped the individual robot modes today. Most likely, I will leave them in combiner mode for the rest of eternity.

The only prob I have with the combiner mode, is the waist pegs to torso slip out too easily. A few other spots can be weak too for dropping pieces. On the other hand, Devastator's main joints are strong, and hold up well.

I found Superion this weekend on an fast dash, three day road trip to Sacramento, for a wedding. I flew through Toys R Us in about five minutes, picked up what I needed, and got out. After seeing that fancy TRU, maybe our local new one won't be such a bad idea (its open too, I have not yet gone).

Now I just need to find a Bruticus for ultimate fighting time.

Kre-O Transformers Predaking Micro Changers Combiners

Kre-O has things covered from small to large with Transformers. I hesitated at first with the Micro Combiners at first, but then thought it would make a nice afternoon project. Easier said than done, these tiny guys can be quite intricate going from minifigure to beast mode to combiner. I imagine it will stay in Predaking mode for a long time, as it was many a step. I also picked up a Devastator, and I think I will try and go the distance and look for a Superion and Bruticus as well.

McDonalds Happy Meal Transformers Prime Robots

Transformers Prime in robot form this time, as last year Happy Meal focused on the Vehicle form. They look pretty good as a set of 6, each one is in pretty good size and detail. The usual action features of projectile launches and swinging punches are included. No disc launching this time! Bulkhead has amazing green plastic to him. Good set overall.

Transformers Bot Shots Powerglide Series 1: B013

Its been almost a year since my last Bot Shot buy. Powerglide was on a good discount so I picked him up. Out of the many Bot Shots available, I like Powerglide more as he is close to the size of G1.

These are the perfect desk toys as they can change back and forth with the slightest effort.

Now if Series 2 will ever show up?

Kre-O Transformers Cycle Chase!

For the Cycle Chase set we have Barricade, a car transformer, driving a cycle. Oh the madness!

Barricade LOOK OUT!

Those crafty Autobot troopers left a barricade in the road.

The team of Autobot troopers here are very Storm Trooper like. Again, I like the slight customizable differences in each one. I would say the drawback to these guys though, are their small foot print. They are more easy to fall down than a Lego man.

Good set overall though, I am sure more adventures are to come with them someday.

Kre-O Transformers Decepticon Ambush!

This is that time of year where I swear I won't buy as much stuff, then see good deals on clearance, and the whole cycle starts over again. Kre-O can be a fun alternative to Lego now and then. It's like playing with an alternate universe. I don't think Transformers are the perfect fit, but a few are fun to play with. I am really more looking forward to the GI Joe versions.

I found these two sets with an additional 40% off, and was hooked. I like how each has a team of generic troopers. When I get some time and build the larger Optimus Prime, these will all help in making a nice battle scene. Hats off to the nice closing boxes to Kre-O again. Good for storage.

For about five bucks, all this is totally worth it (maybe not full price). This is my first time with the Kreon figures, and I would say, okay. A little bit tipsy, a little bit light, but good on detail and some customizable differences on the troopers are a plus.

The logic of Cliff Jumper, a car, driving an ATV is funny to wrap your mind around.

These Vehicon guys look really purpley nice!

2012 Christmas Haul-elujah!

I don't want to blab too much on Christmas and the goodness of mankind like Reis did on his blog post at Dork Horde Prime, so I will just get to the loot I got right away...

1. Optimus Maximus - When I first saw this toy, I thought it was ridiculous/absurd. Then I found it at discount, bought it, gave it to my wife to make sure she got it for me. With the purchase of the Masterpiece Optimus Prime earlier this month, I realized it was time to unnecessarily build a larger ridiculous Optimus Prime shrine. A toy like this will really stand out.

2. Which led to this discounted Kre-O Optimus Prime that I also bought, gave to my wife to give to me.

3. Beast Wars Rattrap. I saw this guy at Timezone toys reseller on my last visit, shot a picture, and had my wife go find this one to give to me (I had to make her do something). Finally, I think, I have all the first run Maximals from the first part of season 1.

4. Machine Wars Optimus Prime. Also found at reseller by my wife, I wanted a Prime that was in less than terrific condition for a future project. I remember passing on this toy several times in the late 90's at KB Toys, and now look at it as it is the most prettiest thing ever.

4. Lego Star Wars Desert Skiff. Such a cool Lego set from my Sister. I have always wanted to build a Sarlacc, and maybe it will even appear in a future minifigures battles stop motion.

5. HexBug Warriors Arena set from my Dad (per my forced suggestion)! Oh this is amazingly cool! You have to get one! It comes with two bugs, but with too more, you get some amazing, hilarious, out of control, weaponized bug battles. It is so fun when two randomly go after one. Or when another just ditches battle entirely, goes over the side, and walks away. I will show more soon...

6. The complete Original Classic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Series! Thats right, the grand daddy present of them all, from my wife. This is amazing, like totally 19 discs of Ranger adventures. So many memories packed in, I will be watching pretty much all year with all that content.

So yeah, an amazing run of stuff this year. Also got some normal things like a sweater, coffee mug, homemade tasty Hot Coco, and a weed whacker. Great gifts, just not for this blog audience. Oh, I should also show stuff my baby girl got, cause lets face it, I will be playing with it too.
