Star Wars Storm and Clone Troopers Exhibit
Here is an exhibit of Star Wars Storm and Clone troopers I have amassed, and in time to plug a friends blog IDStormTroopers. No we don't dress up as Storm Troopers and run around on windy lightning days, we just troop out during a storm and film it.

Marvel Attacktix Spider-men and Wolveri-men

I am getting real close to collecting all the booster packs of series one Marvel Attacktix. Do I win a prize? I have yet to really test these guys in battle, but I like the weakest warrior class spidey the best. He has a very strong/long striker arm (I also lucked out and have a chrome version as well). Spider-man on the pole has a difficult kick, and possible dooming tilt, but special attack power that might come in handy ('Teamwork' -extra attack if four different marvel classes in play). Web attack Spidy has the biggest base, so he might be tough to knock over.

The booster Wolverine is way better than then starter pack version. He has a mean claw attack arm that springs out claws over a full half inch at maximum strength and speed!!! I would imagine any opponent he gets right next to, will go down from the claw attack (as long as you don't hit the Thing from his side), however his weakness will be getting to his target in time.
Captain America has been aquired, but is shy to a picture, since he has been abducted several times by the "family dog." Venom and Magneto are on their way via post. And Thor has yet to be Ebayed.
Everyone laughs at my obsession for collecting these Attacktix, but someday some kid (probably me) will pop an eye out from a powerfull missfired projectile, an angry Mom will cry foul, and these will all be recalled, thus making the worth of my collection One Million Dollars! Bwa-Ha-ha!

Oh-no, not again, again.

The Marvel Attacktix addiction is in full swing now. I think about it at work, in the car, while I sleep, when I eat, when I brush Bart, getting beat up by jocks, while I watch tv, when I think about other toys, when I walk to the car, when I stage an useccessful nerd group attack on the jocks...
Right now my impression is Ultra High. They have so much more color, bright color, than the Star Wars series. They also have some nice details that stand out. For example, Gambit has a few Ace cards painted on his 'force blast/throwing weapon.' Also unlike the Star Wars version, the projectiles look better on the toy than they do in the catologue. For example, the catalogue shows Punisher's projectile as red, but it is actually black, which really makes his weapon look punishing. There is also a nice Arm fling upgrade to Sabretooth. Instead of doing the usual complicated wind up for the paw attack, it just spring flips back and WAM-O! Too bad they didn't do this with old Wolverine though. He has the old school wind-up, but mine has a loose shoulder so he ends up really faulty. I might get one out of five swings to work. I am hoping to get the alternate version of Wolverine with the projectile claws some day. I also got my first sting based Attacktix. Green Goblin can fly off his base and attack from the air. I tried a few times, but its harder than though. Shooting from sky downwards, doesn't guarentee a knockdown becasue the base protects the hit. It is better to hit from the side to tip the figure over.
The best part is, unlike my other Attacktix addiction phases is that I have not gotten a repeat figure yet!!! Im sure my luck will change, but its nice to start strong for a change, instead of Bowcaster Chewbacca after Chewbacca after chewbacca. I think the main downside to Marvel attacktix right now is no character works as a double. You can have a thousand troopers in Star Wars Attacktix, but it seems silly to have a thousand Electros. (unless, I guess, there is a cloneing mishap)

Oh no, not again...

For the last few months I have been pretty good at avoiding the Attacktix pegs at the store. Most of my money has been fed to my extreme Transformers addiction of the moment. After looking through this year's Toy Fair stuff though, I don't think I will be buying as many of the Movie Transformers except for maybe Optimus Prime. The rest all look, eh-?-er- well just not to thrilling. Besides, I have enough Cybertron Transformers to build a small pyramid in the back yard. Anyhow, I was in Spokane Washington this weekend, and as always I like to find the Toys R us and pillage it of its wonders. Sadly, not too many wonders there, so I made the mistake of picking up a few booster packs of the Marvel Attacktix to see how they compare to the Star Wars versions.
NOW I WANT THEM ALL!!!
Darn, I thought I learned this impossible lesson from the Star Wars Attacktix. My game plan is to buy just a couple more packs, then get a few off Ebay, and call it good. I really don't need to go overboard again. However, I think the Marvel version works better in the battle sense. The Marvel assortment of characters in battle seem more accurate then the assortment of Star Wars characters go through. For example why would a A new hope version of Luke Skywalker take on a Return of the Jedi slave Leia? All the marvel combos of battle feel more plausable. On the other hand it's just a silly fun table game, in which I will never forget how my 98 year old Grandma kept firing Jedi Luke Skywalker's force blast weapon into a seperate game that My friend and I were playing.

It's Star Wars Attacktix Inventory Time!

Yikes! Thats a lot of Attacktix! Whoever guesses the correct amount of Attacktix on this table gets the respect of knowing they counted the correct amount of Attacktix on this table! Now that I'm hooked again on series 4, I thought I better check to see what I have again. I'm still missing a critical Yoda and R2 unit. I'm still overdosing with Chewbacca's and clone troopers. I did weed out about 20 not shown on this table, that I will have to ebay. I will need the space if I start getting more. Dratfully I got a booster pack this week with a rerun Royal Guard and poorly painted Sand Trooper. I figure my odds right now are 50/50 for getting a new and different figure. I really want more Ewoks that is for sure. Those little guys took out an entire legion of the Emperors top troops if you didn't know. I would like to reenact that to see if I get the same results.

Heroes of Attacktix!

Thanks to Attacktix Joe, Joe Attacktix, I won a set of Star Wars heroes! Thanks Joe! Chewbacca wants to know why his weapon is green while everyone else sports blue. The mystery of the Star Wars Universe I guess. Since I have this set already, I think I will plan to surprise unsuspecting people into their own starter set, so I can rumble their puny talents later. Bwa-Ha-Ha!
Welp I will be out and about for the next couple O'weeks. But don't go away, surprises may be a legofoot. And soon I will have proof from the State of Idaho that a toy nerd can get married to a beautifull girl. And then we will honeymoon on some nice Cobra Island somewhere. Hey!... Maybe I should take my GI Joes... What's that honey?
I was just saying I could bring my...
#%*Ouch! Ouch! Ok, ok, they'll stay home.
-Dan
Maybe I will sneak a small Cobra Trooper. :)

Hello Darth Maul!

It's been awhile since I have said anything about my Attacktix addiction. I was lucky to find a Darth Maul opened at a Target the other day. I don't get why people are opening these things to find rare figures, just to leave them. I guess its just young bored kids, or people looking for that rare clone trooper to finish their collection. I also found one of those cool spitting Jabba the Hutts. It's sort of like a large Pez despencer. A few weeks ago I found a cool Easter sale, buy one get one free deal, for the boster packs. That was worth the money for the first pack, but all reruns for the second. I really have too many of the same ones, and am starting to slow down in buying these things. What's strange is that I haven't even played the game more than a couple of times. Its pretty fun though, like chess with projectiles. Hopefully one day I will be able to find more time to play.

Attacktix Speed Skating
Are these Toy Olympians still going?

We have Star Wars Attacktix Speed Skating today! The Battle Droid, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Captain Antilles and Bossk have made it to the gold plastic race!
And there they go!

Obi-Wan flies out in front, Fast! Bossk and the captain are neck and neck! Battle droid not doing so well...

Obi-wan is in a commanding lead...Wait a second!
Weapons fire detected!!!

Oooh, Obi-Wan is knocked down hard by Bossk and the Captain! This is totally against regulations and...yes, the judges have disqualified both Bossk and Captain Antilles!

What luck for the slow witted Battle Droid! It wins by just staying in the game! Talk about the Tortoise and the Hare!
Up Next The Final Hockey game, and thank God, Closing Ceremonies!

Oh God, Series 3, Here we go again...

I found the Star Wars Attactix series 3 starter pack today thus beginning another costly endeavor. I am going to try my best just to buy three extra booster packs and one cool deluxe Jabba pack. Thats it! I have no room for these guys. (lets just say there was a vacuum incident in the spare room situation) Actually series 3 isn't that enticing, with many figures being reused and the diversity all mostly from A New Hope. That's a good thing now, but when the mostly Empire Strikes back series comes out, I will be a poor poor toy collector. I just hope this time when I buy my first few packs I will get three unique rare ones and not three of the same right off the bat! Maybe they do that on purpose though? TO make my blood boil for more? Oh well, let the Wars of series 3 commence!

Star Wars Attacktix Red Royal Ruards (Guards) are Really Rad!

I got a Royal Guard on E-bay for .99 cents! The shipping was about 3.99. So I'm not sure who won. I guess the Red Royal Guard did. So are these guys clones underneith? Or the best of the best alien fighters? Or droids? I don't read too many of the books to know. I just like how they always play the silent role in the movies.

Some lucky splurging today.

For once I bought an Attacktix booster pack that didn't contain a Chewbacca! As I said earlier, Kit Fisto was a favorite Jedi of mine. How does he get his dread-alien-locks to do that? It's nice to actually have a Clone Commander that is labeled right. My other one is tagged as a Neimodian guard. Jango is always welcome (anyone ever beat Bounty Hunter for Gamecube or PS2, I can't get my way out of the Spice Factory yet, that place is way too dangerous, too many super high cliffs, jumps, skiffs, and bad guys. I keep thinking I near the end...then i find another room of torture). And kicking Obi-won is Great! Its nice to have an Attacktix that doesn't use the traditional methods for attack. It's funny too because he spins awkwardly around on his hips sometimes making it look like he has a massive leg injury. Play on!

BEHOLD! Do Light Sabers cast shadows? The Truth!
So Light Sabers do have shadows?

I can't believe the luck I had finding this thing. At last I can rest, well sort of, I'm sure the itch will come back. I was walking around after work today and came across another opened box of Attacktix. These kids today, so darn competitive. I figured all the good stuff inside was nabbed. But to my surprise DARTH VADER was just sitting on top. If you search E-bay he is worth about 10 to 15 bucks right now. Thats twice the pack price! Not that I'm selling it, it just shows he's a hot toy to the collection (along with Yoda). Not to mention, its Darth Vader, making any Attacktix game fun to play!

Attacktix updates...
I just started finding series 2 Attacktix packs, and so far my luck is really good or really bad. Mainly bad, I keep getting the same ones! (which would indicated I have good luck drawing the same things). What are the odds to keep pulling Chewbacca's, Medic Droids, and Jedi Knights. They just keep coming. Its silly, statistically speaking the first few boxes should all be new stuff. Aaaarrrghh. And then the worst part...Their are rummors that Hasbro is launching Attacktix Transformers, and Attacktix GI Joe next year. I can't afford this addiction in money and in space. Oh well here are some new things...
Troopers are an abundant force in my collection so far, (so are those darn Wookie commandos!) Series 2 has the clone trooper dressed in red stripes.

Series 2, Grievous Bodyguards have a way better paint job then series one. GO American Grievous Bodyguards gladiators!

And I found a Nute Gunray on E-bay. He's important for leading those pesky Neimoidian gaurds into battle.

Time for the big guns!

Now things are going really crazy in my Star Wars Attacktix hording. I strengthened my armies with an AT-RT and a Republic Gunship. The Gunship adds a nice level of play being able to leave its base (tied to a teather) fly and pick up a guy and move it to a better location. The AT-RT has some very powerfull rapid fire cannons. The next game should be pretty intence. That is, until I loose an eye.

At last! The mighty Attacktix Chewbacca!

I have recently become addicted to the Star Wars toy game of Attacktix. It started out as just one free Count Dooku with purchase of another Star Wars toy. He was pretty cool, so I figured I should buy one more to compliment him. Of course you can't just buy one, you have to by a three pack in a grab bag like box. Now I had four Attacktix. According to the pack though, you had to have three pieces per team to play a game, So I bought another three pack. Enough to play a short game, I was not satisfied...I wanted a more popular character like Obi-won or Darth Vader. So I bought a boster pack, and another one, and another one. I think I really should stop now, but when I got the rare Emperor figure it encouraged me to get more...If only I could get a Yoda. Chewbacca is cool too though and should satisfy me for a few hours at least.
