Best Junk of 2009!

Clearly the GI Joe Rise of Cobra toys were my favorite stuff to over collect last summer. Awesome all around. Best part is the tons of accessories and display bases they came with. Wish other toy lines would get that idea too.

I splurged on the bailed Indiana Jones line last winter. Temple of Doom wasn't my favorite movie, but it had the best characters of the four movies by far. Or at least the action figures of the characters were a had to have.

Perceptor was actually my favorite Transformer find of the year, but he is already packed away for the upcoming move. So there is these two instead; Mudflap and Skids. I hate them in the movie with a passion, but in toy form they are great. I prefer to believe they are intelligent and appropriately funny Autobots. They are used as successful spokesman for GM cars in selling new technology every week on TV. Their faces were deformed because they crashed in Paris and saw some Picasso paintings in museum windows.

Lots of Star Wars figures in the back ground that you have to have year. The Treadwell Droid is my favorite, and Leesub is really starting to make a name for herself on this blog. The two Jawas are my first ever in Jawa purchasing.

And to round out something that is not a toy, the best soundtracks this year. If you want some excellent toy playing music, here it is. The End Credits to Star Trek is fantastic, and the Ginormica Suite will certainly blow you away.

Toy of the Year, 2009!

The Clone Trooper with Slanket.

Happy New Years everyone! What a year it has been here at the Toy Museum! Record numbers thanks to the wonderful group of toy blogs, geek related enthusiasts, and Family Guy related costume swapping. I really get a kick out of sharing my wacky things to you all, and love the feedback! Big things to come for 2010, the Toy Museum will be moving! Things might get a little crazy in the weeks ahead, please hang in there. Look forward to a new GI Joe vehicles run amok at that location, it will amaze!

As for this years favorite toys? I should have more time tomorrow afternoon to review.

Again, Happy New Years! Be safe! Buy lots of Toys!

2008 Toy Review

Thought I would iMovie document this years toys. Had a little difficulty with a new iMovie software, but I think when I finally get the hang of it, it will be for the better.

My favorite 2007 toys!

2007 is about to die, what toys did I find most fun for the year you ask? (didn't I say that last year? -thanks copy/paste)

Boise State Mr Potato Head! Nice to have a toy that has local values.

Movie Optimus Prime! So neat of a toy I'm Prospectoring Peteing it. Maybe on a rainy day I will open it.

Radio Shack's Transformer Zip Zaps micro RC's. Very fun to distract the cat with.

Two ShipWrecks in one year! Thats crazy! So are the 25th anniversary figures, and the 26th anniversary figures, and the 27th and so on...

I rounded up the Ben 10 toys from around the house and got them to stand still for a quick family reunion shot. Need to work on Wildmutt's drool problem.

2008 will bring? Transformers Classics round 2! Xemot and Tomex! Probaly new Batman Dark Knight toys! Indiana Jones Legos! Marvel Attacktix series 2! A redesigned Toy Museum?--Ha-ha, I'm too lazy for that!

Until next year!

Top toys of 2006!

2006 is about to die, what toys did I find most fun for the year you ask?

Beast Wars 10th Aniversary was a chance to pick up characters I missed the first time. It also got me looking on ebay for even more like Inferno and Quickstrike. Transformers Classics was a zippy retrospective of G1 toys.

As always, new Bionicles were fun to build. I collected three, and resisted the rest.

The new H.I.S.S tank was probably the best hidden surprise of the year. I wouldn't mind buying ten more.

Sigma Six toys are as strong as ever! Destro and his suit case was a spiffy cool xmas gift, as was Hi-Tech and Zartan. Im looking forward to Ship Wreck and the Ladies of Sigma Six.

The best toy of the year looked like Transformers Cybertron Primus. I have yet to snagg one yet...

Top Five toys of 2005!

#1 Optimus Prime: Cybertron

Most fun with Prime I have had in years. Great design, playability, and homage to the original.

#2 Star Wars Attacktix

Everything from the Revenge of the Sith toy lines were great this year. Too great, I spent waaaay more then I should. But heck this is the last time right? Attacktix put a new spin on Star Wars toys for me, and truely created a monster inside for collecting. The grab bag style of boxes is just mean (at least let me see one out of the three).

#3 Snake Eyes from GI Joe Sigma Six.

What a great new direction for GI Joe toys, a fussion between old and somewhat old to make new! The package design in itself is a work of art (and nasty to open too). I can't wait to find a Cobra Commander!

#4 Batman Begins

Nice collection of figures and accessories. The joints are plentiful and the Dark Knight looks like he did in the flick.

#5 Mega Block's Magnetic Knights

I am entertained with these things. So very original with the joints being magnets, you can pose them in a 1000 and 1 ways!

What will 2006 bring? probably bankruptcy. I'm thinking about giving myself a small budget for the year, or maybe a small limit (only three boxes of series three attacktix!!!) so I can keep things in perspective. Perhaps this blog will keep me in check.

Happy New Year!
