The Quorra Action Figure Conundrum, Pass or Fail? Tron Legacy.

I'm still sticking to my Tron Legacy toys as a fan! They are spiffy future cool. I know in five years when all the batteries are dead, I will be cursing them, but for now, play on! I finally found a Quorra in the wild at Target, but is she an epic fail of a figure? Her helmet is so stumpy, and covers her better side. It's as if she's hiding some horrible disfigurement.

Everything else is spot on cool, she has good articulation, and can even kick/sit with the mini skirt pretty well.

They even have her digital shoes going accurate.

So with her ugly helmet, is their any chance?

Wait a second, look who just walked by!

Indiana Jones girl, Irina Spalko everyone!

Are we to be entertained with a female sword fight???

Not a sword fight, but a good old fashioned head steal!

Well look at that, Irina's head almost fits to Quorra's body! She looks a little too old, but the hair is spot on. I wonder if there are paint tricks to match her better.

With the head being a little loose, she's almost channeling some Kim Cattrall's Lieutenant Valeris from Star Trek VI (Can this post get any geekier...Just wait a second...)

Quorra look out! Irina is at it again, channeling the power of the black crystal skull helmet!!!

Oh Wait, it doesn't fit. Whew, we can all rest.

Lego Indiana Jones; Ambush in Cairo 7195, Uh-oh...

I suddenly realized the other day I never bought any Indiana Jones Legos! I played the Nintendo DS game thoroughly, then lost focus on the actual sets. I really wanted the Indiana Jones/Dad motorcycle pack, but at this point I'll take anything on the shelf. Thankfully, Toys R Us still had a few sets. The Ambush in Cairo set isn't a bad second place, as it has many key minifigures, only missing a monkey!!! I will have to get one then.

How cute, does everyone look!

Its also pretty neat that this set integrates well with my other Adventure themed Legos. Look how the street fills up with many neat characters and situations!

"Beep! Beep!" Watch out, I hope there isn't a cool Sword fight with Indy and the Black Swordsman to entertain everyone, ha ha ha...

Oh Crap!

I Thought they were joking when they wanted health benefits. Well I'm not leaving, so SUCK ON THAT!

Look who I ran into...

What a pleasure to meet Indiana Jones. He was pretty quite though, so we just played it casual.

More fun with Akator

Maybe a reason why it took 20 years for a new Indy Movie...

Indiana Jones; Akator Temple Race Game

Looking for a game that matches your hidden desires of pushing people down stairs? Then the Indiana Jones; Akator Temple Race game is for you!

Lets open it up and see what we have...

No, not a cat! Bart just proves that once again any new box that is open he can fit into.

Anyways...Here is the game and all its pieces.

Its really a toy board game, with the Temple full of fun surprises.

A fast paced game, your goal is to race down the steps, get a Crystal Skull card, then make it into the Temple entrance at the bottom of the staircase.

The main obstacle is every time you move you then draw a card, that could spell doom for your own journey or for other players.

The top of the temple turns with a twist of the hand, then pressing down, some of the stairs lever downwards causing game pieces to fall to their doom. I suppose if you had superior intellect you could remember the sequence of that stair fall pattern, but you would also have to take into account of the possible clockwise-counterclockwise rotation of the top.

For holding on, some of the outside steps have spots for Indy's base to clip onto, and some of the inner steps have holes for Indy's whip to grab onto.

A few of the cards that you might draw while playing. Many cards have a 'go again' feature, which if shuffled right, and dice rolled right, you could possibly win the game in only one turn before anyone else can go! Highly unlikely though.

Overall its a fun and easy going game! I recommend four players, less than that it is too easy.

Its also a perfect action figure stand!

Samurai Prowl Review

I don't usually review toys, but I was so impressed with Samurai Prowl that I had to point out some of his great features. Surprisingly this is my first animated toy from this line and probably not the last. I always like the more cartoon style of a toy vs. an ultra realistic creepy version. Now lets look at some of the detail on Prowl's side carrage...

Uh-oh...

Indiana Jones and the Animal Hanging Incident

Just a few weeks ago Bubbashelby of Toyriffic brings up the topic of toys at work. Well my coworkers did it to me again...

I suppose its a work of hanging balancing art, and I think Indy would try to save all the animals. Not sure how he got that paper car with missing wheels lodged up there between the shelves.

A closer look reveals the true tension of the moment. I'm sure they will come crashing down someday at the right moment. Or they will be used as rubber band target practice. Poor Indy.

Just be glad I omitted the sexually suggestive picture with Indy, the Horse, The Dog and Cat.

Indiana Jones: Willie Scott

It's Willie Scott the funniest screamy girl in all of the Indiana Jones movies. The part where she goes to hang clothes on the tree limbs only to pull a bat's wings open is one of the greatest scenes in motion picture history.

That doesn't look good! Maybe she should get a cast on that arm!

Lets give her a diamond to take the pain away. For the most part the accompanying relics have been pretty good with matching to character.

Now lets scare her with bugs! I wonder if she would give up that diamond to be saved?

Indiana Jones: Short Round

I chose to open Short Round first as I needed a side kick for Indy and he looked pretty darn cool too. I always wished he could have done a quick cameo in Crystal Skull. I also wished there was a Shankara stone in the treasure room at the end of the movie. That would have been spiffy.

Naturally I had to put him on an elephant right away. The other option being a strong bridge, but I really didn't want to build it. There was a better younger elephant at the store, but it was in a pack of other animals and I didn't want to over spend on the prop, but this one's size is close enough.

Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom Figures

When I heard stories that Hasbro cancelled the current Indiana Jones line I sort a freaked out. But with some quick thinking, and a few favors, I was able to snag a case of Temple of Doom figures! Of course, I have to report to work at a Chinese toy factory on Monday morning, I think it was well worth it. I never ordered a 'case' of action figures before, it was kind of scary if I would even get the ones I wanted. With the newest wave possibly canned, I could have ended up with a bunch of Ugha Warriors from Crystal Skull, but my luck was good and I got what the order was for.

I wanted Temple of Doom toys the most because they are the most fun characters from the movies. They should provide lots of silly antics for the museum. Especially Mola Ram, what is with that guy?!

The down side to the case is lots of extra figures that I already had or, had now have extra of had. Anyone need a Raiders Indy with Idol or Rocket Launcher Indy?

I like the beat up Indy figure, I need to build a bridge for him to cut down.

I like how the package points out "With Sword!"

I can't even imagine the pain Indy's finger is in being stuck in that package for so long!

I will have to show more of these, stay around.
