Video footage of Spider-Man web slinging?!!! Really?
Real footage of a Stunt-Man Spider-Man web slinging around the city for the new movie. Amazing, that no one gets hurt!

New movie Spider-Man suit stuntman Web-Slinging down town scenes captured!
First we see exclusive photos of stunt Spider-Man running around location for the new movie. Now we see the stunt Spider-Man take on web-slinging. This is exciting, as I always thought they over did the CG in the last few movies. What mainly bothered me was how fast he moved. If you saw someone do that in real time, I believe it would move much slower, especially from a far, and with long arcing swings. Anyhow, the Toy Museum's cameras were once again in the perfect spot, check out this unplanned stunt...
The Stunt Spider-Man has no time to react when Kingpin surprises us all, coming out of a Bills Fish and Chips restaurant, no surprise packing a lot of weight.
For a second, you can kind of see the stunt Spider-Man adjust, but there is just no time...
Oow, Ouch! And he's hurt badly again.
I guess web-slinging is pretty darn fast.
Jay Cutler's "toughness" throws five TD's after knee surgery!
It's so unfortunate what happened to Jay Cutler this week. He gets hurt in a game, and then every one starts questioning his "toughness" for not playing the rest of the game. As if, his toughness might have made the game get any better. Not to mention a season highlighted to ridiculous levels on concussions and helmet weapon hitting. So if your a player, and your head is any way hurt, get out of the game or you will die, but if your knee is hurt, keep playing and be hobbled for life. If only they let you play with a wheel chair on the field. Rules need to be changed!!!
I hope Jay can survive this onslaught, so I can see him back in the title game next year, and throw those interceptions we all know he is capable of doing.
Get well Jay!

New Thundercats cartoon! I can finally retire the old team!
A new Thundercats show will come out sometime this year, and not a moment too soon. My old collection has really let themselves go. I was okay with the weight gain at first, but then came the smoking and the boozing. Have you ever had to clean up a Thundertank hairball??!
So if your still using Chunky B's computerless internet, here is the new shot that everyone who's everyone has been linking around today...

More shocking new movie Spider-Man suit stuntman running down town scenes captured!
More "amazing" photos are hitting the "web" this week of the new Spiderman, or his stunt double, running around down town. The Toy Museum was able to get these exclusive shots, getting more detail then ever before. I am not too keen on the new suit yet, seems to be some texture issues. The legs are very sports team like, and is that the Nikey Swoosh? I am also concerned about the scaling. It looks like a real heavy man, almost block like. He is running, and running fast.
So fast, not even to see that dumpster bin that appears literally out of nowhere!
Oh, and it looks like he's hurt, really badly! Poor Stuntman!
I wonder what footage we will see next?

ToyFare Canceled, Ended, Ceased, Dead? Whaaa?!! Where is mini Cobra Commander to stop this madness!
Well that just made today suck all the more. It was one of the few magazines I ever had a subscription to in the last ten years or so (more like only). Well to be Fare I only had it for a couple years, before I found out that I could use the same money and buy more toys. I did like to look through it at the local Hastings store from time to time. I also always made sure to buy one durning vacation time. Print publication is so old school now that the internet is in full swing (have you heard about the World Wide Web?), its not surprising, but it still hurts.

Hot Wheels, Treats for Creeps, 1983, Most Disturbing Van!
Today's water cooler antics at work dealt with this little van from 1983. A co-worker found it in his old toy stash. It's hard to believe Hot Wheels went there even if it was 1983. Yes, an Ice Cream truck with a most disturbing clown graphic with "Treats for Creeps" as its header sign. At least it wasn't "Treats from Creeps." "I scream 2," is also on the side. The toy is in awesome shape for a 1983 Hot Wheels. Anyone else remember playing with this one?

Anyone play Hasbro's Cuponk yet?
Hasbro's team of geniuses this year out did themselves my marketing a game based off a cup and a ball. I too fell for its artsy charm, and the fact that I needed a quick "easy" game for a work related holiday party. It's not too overpriced, most stores had it around ten dollars (although I got screwed out of $17 because I was in a hurry). You can find it in three styles; El Campeon (pictured), Let it R.I.P., or Gorillanator.
The cup is electronic, and when you sink a Ping Pong ball, it lights up and makes a sound effect. It comes with a variety of card challenges to play. Most are pretty hard, even harder, or down right impossibly hard. The number on the card indicating how many shots you have before the next person gets a shot.
For the most part it was fun and we played with it lightly. Here is a clip of my boss playing... Just Kidding. It didn't all end up happy though, someone at our home Christmas party mistook it for a real cup, and filled it with water then placed it in our kitchen sink. Really?! Now mine has a ring of water damage on the lower graphic, but it does still play thankfully. So I guess it might survive a quick game of Beer Pong.

Who wants to play Hulk Ball?!
Wolverine, "I Do! I Do!"
Wolverine, "I smash the ball, I SMASH THE BALL!"
Wolverine, "What the heck?"
Wolverine, "What the heck, that's me?"
Hulk, "Who wants to play Woverine Ball?"
Yeah, I really don't know where I was going with this one. Hey, I can't be on 100% of the time.

Hot Wheels Buzzerk, 2011 New Model, but how can it drive on a track with that saw blade???
I think I might have to troop build this car! It has a rotating saw down the center! Remarkably, it rolls across the table without trouble.
Its brilliantly detailed with caution tape all over the hood.
But, Can it drive on a track...
Amazingly, it can, and Cat approved!

Skate GX Trick Park makes for an Awesome display base
The best things are found at the weirdest places. The Weird place today was the Grocery Outlet store, and behold a Skate GX Trick park for 1.99! Now there is a gray area if this counts as a toy or not, I say its a toy display item so it doesn't count.
Toy display item you ask? Thats right, this thing is perfect for a toy display. Check out this otherwise boring classic Transformers display...
Look how they just stand there, slumping their shoulders and just being bored all the time.
Now introduce the Skate GX Trick Park, and now see how everything dazzles! (sorry Sky Lynx couldn't fit).
That's right, it has both a stepped display side, and a totally awesome ramp for those action shoots you desire.
And it can be yours for a 1.99, if you have a Grocery Outlet store in your neighborhood!
And of course, its totally wheel chair accessible!
Go get yours RIGHT NOW!

Lego Star Wars Minifigures
The good news is that I found the cheese wedge that fits in my Chicago Bears bear hat, so that if they end up playing the Packers, I have something for my bear hat to eat. The bad news, is the Star Wars minifigures are drawn to fight around it.

Star Wars Lego TIE Defender 8087
And here we go, Eleven days into the new year, I crack and buy a toy. I don't think I had much of a choice considering the deal, $23.99 down from about $50. That's always my weakness, a super deal. Oh well, its an awesome set, and hey February is only weeks away! Unless I crack and get that Yellow Y-Wing. I'm thinking that Star Wars Legos might be my thing for this year. I don't see anything upcoming new lines of toys that I want to start collecting. Meh to Thor, Green Lantern, and Captain America toys, if they make them.
The TIE defender is one of the greats. Not really seen in the movies, it shows up in video games and cartoons and such. I actually first owned the Micro Machine Action Fleet version once, but it was such a rare toy, I sold it for many times what I bought it for, no regrets.
This Lego Version looks spot on. The newer sets are getting so detailed with what they can do. I remember when Lego first started making Star Wars Legos, they were a little more blockular. I'll be sure to post some pictures once I build it.

Hot Wheels '77 Maverick Grabber and Lotus Concept
I picked these two up at lunch today (which doesn't count as an official toy purchase for this year, wink wink). I liked them because they were basically painted the same but with completely different timelines and style. The Lotus is a track star, and soon will be doing some laps on the track, while the Maverick will be just looking retro.

NBC's The Cape, Season Premier, Episode One, the Pilot, Review
Well, so far, since my new years resolution holds true, and I am buying less toys, I need to do something else to stay current, so I give you my review of the first episode of The Cape.
The Cape; Episode 1. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!!
Just kidding. I actually liked it. Without giving any details away, or character names, as I already forgot those details, the show was pretty good. I guess in short; a cop, who slightly looks like Daniel Craig, gets framed by bad guys taking over the city police, cop gets fake killed, captured by a circus group, finds a cape, and is now cape-man. Fast pace, didn't waste your time, silly characters, awkward bad guys, and pretty good budget for TV. Actually when I say fast pace, sometimes too fast. The Cape gets in trouble before you even can read the little chapter titles. But, again, I hate when my time is wasted. Much like when NBC did that Viper car show. What was that all about, a car that changes shape and grows big bubble wheels? And was that over fifteen years ago, Dan stay current!!!
So yeah, The Cape, its fun. Not to be confused with the old NASA Cape show about space shuttle crews. The Cape itself has some character. It can grab things, and swirl around all swooshy like. It looks like there will be lots of spiffy supporting cast, minus the annoying little kid, that all shows like this has to have.
As for the cape pictured, It's a Batman Animated cape. Perhaps I will show more of my extensive cape collection...

Transformers Animated Lockdown is Hooky and Spikey!
Yeeaaaargh, a Pirates life for me!
Transformers Animated has had a long time to live on the store shelves. Its awesome that I still am able to add another one to the collection, when the cartoon finished, what, two years ago? One of the big problems with toys lately is the insane turnover rate. How many different kinds of Transfomers timelines are there to follow?!? It would be nice if they didn't rush them so fast. Just when you like one show, they all die, and another one starts.
Lockdown has been on my short list for some time, luckily a great man gave it to me as a gift, before I foolishly lost my chance.
A really well designed Transformer all around, both vehicle and Robot. I really like the Animated series ability to heighten. One small vehicle always seems to transform to a really tall robot. Lockdown also has one of the best neck/heads a Transformer could have. Very unique!
Animated toys are starting to disappear, so if you see him, don't pass him up.

Un-Pregnant Natalie Portman, Star Wars Padme Amidala with wedgie
So the big news last week or so was that Natalie Portman was pregnant, which coincides with a better action figure than this one, but thats for a future post. This figure I bought last year at this time, but I was moving, so I had to pack her up, then forget. I opened her up last night to find a startling wedgie. She must have been in agony in that package for over a year...
There's not much I can do about it though, she's just plastic.
I could cover her up, so that no one could see the wedgie.
But what fun is that?

The Last toys I bought in 2010, Marvel vending machine capsule toys!
I meant this to be my last post of 2010, but things got so busy towards the end of the year that I failed. So, here we go, Marvel Capsule toys in 2011. I was surprised to find these in the wild, as they are kind of a mythical rumor that I didn't believe in. I kept my eye out though, just in case. They are sold in those classic capsule vending machines in grocery stores. Our local Paul's Market actually had some big vending machines to fit these guys, as they are a dollar each! Believe me, I felt really silly inserting four quarters for one Marvel ball.
As you can see, Thor and Wolverine chose me (I was hoping for something more blue and red, maybe next time). If you haven't figured it out yet, their bodies fit inside their capsule heads. They are one of the more ingenious toys of late. Although, I wish the plastic was just a little heavier. A bad guy with a pellet gun could have some fun with these guys.
