Mcdonald's Happy Meal Toys 2011, Batman the Brave and the Bold; Firestorm, Two Face, & Solomon Grundy pack #2!

I wonder if I had a massive nerd splurge and purchased all Batman Brave and Bold Happy Meal toys at once? Ok I did, but this solves this month's stress from day to day meal searches. Set #2 is nowhere near as cool as set 1, but it does fill in those spots for extra characters.

Firestorm has nice clear glowing plastic for his fire look. Nice touch for a Happy Meal toy, that could have been easily easily easily left red plastic.

Two Face again on this blog, in as little as a week? I guess he does do things in twos. I would like to paint his shirt white and give him more detail, as he looks a bit like Count Chocula from one side. At least this version comes with a coin in his hand.

Ah Solomon Grundy. He's one of those baddies I completely forgot about over the years. I remember re-watching the Super Friends a couple years ago, and was trying to figure out who the heck that weird guy in the corner was who kept speaking of himself in the third person. Of course, him speaking third person, gives the name out pretty fast, But I still was curious of his ability to be included in the Legion of Doom. This mini-toy of him is bulky, and somewhat pigeon toed. Neat!

Mcdonald's Happy Meal Toys 2011, Batman the Brave and the Bold; Batman, The Penguin, and the Batmobile pack #1!

Did Mcdonald's just go super genius with this prize set? Three toys!!! THREE TOYS!!!

THREE TOYS!!!

Well, I think its cool. So cool I had to have a coworker ask the counter if they were selling them yet this morning. They were, and the best set #1 was offered up. Now I can relax on finding a regular Batman, Batmobile, and Penguin.

Ok, three toys does mean diminished quality, right? You would think they forgot to paint Batman's boots, gloves, and underpants, but you can't be more wrong. Its supposed to be his suit with gray boots, gloves, and underpants! No articulation, but with durable minifigures like this, who cares?

I always had a found spot for the Penguin. I think its because my earliest knowledge of him, was when he teamed up with the Joker in the old Scooby-Doo cartoon. In fact, I believed The Joker and Penguin were a regular team just like Batman and Robin!

Once again, another rocking Batmobile for the mobile collection. This one is so glossy shiny, I can only touch with white gloves, in fear of smudges.

So yeah, I am in love with this Happy Meal toy series, and I will need to appear on the Biggest Looser once this month is up.

Will work for Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Proto Bat-Bot!

Never has a toy like this spread so virally around the toy collector geek-O-sphere. First Super Duper Toy Box shows off the most fantastic toy photo spread I have ever seen, Then a week later Toyriffic does the same. I had to play with it, I had to!

It SOO doesn't disappoint, full of tricks, spins, and sound effects. I think this thing could give a few Transformers a run for their money. Well balanced, and designed, this toy goes on my top ten list (which I should probably add to the side of my blog). It makes me wonder why I passed it up the first time I saw it. I think I though I would see it around more, but like the Bat-man, he quickly disappeared.

I had to earn my Proto Bat-Bot, by way of a tricky bribe. I typed, plotted, cut, weeded, and taped 33's for my top ten friend Mary for her race car. May she win first place this year at Meridian Speedway! #67 Chad too, if he did indeed contribute funds to the Bat-Bot, but he may have been using Mary's Proto Bat-Bot as a more trickery bribe. Of course, Chad, a Batmobile would clarify things...

This isn't the last time Proto Bat-Bot will appear, his antics will surely be back...

Lego Mini X-wing Fighter 4484 and 30051

Lego is awesome as they are always improving their designs. My first mini building set from 2003 vs the new 2011 mini X-wing fighter.

Gotta say the new one is totally improved. Its larger, sturdier, and has more color. The first one was packaged with a Tie Advanced, so it had less pieces. It wasn't too bad for the time, its wing guns are a little simplistic. The new one has better thruster lights in the back.

The new X-Foils are more menacing in attack position then before too.

Still they both are fun, and in 8 years, when the next model is out, I will get it and compare again.

The Pursuit of Cobra; H.I.S.S. Tank V.5

I was fortunate to view a H.I.S.S. Tank in the wild today, here is my story.

I heard a loud noise in the backyard. I ran to go see. In the distance a Cobra H.I.S.S Tank V.5.

It spotted me first, and raised to strike!

It looked at me.

I looked at it closer.

A canopy opened, and a tiny man appeared.

He exited momentarily and stated that this land is now in Cobra's control.

He then went on his way.

DC Super Friends, Fisher Price TRIO Batman and The Riddler

On the other corner of Toys R Us, are Trio; Build, Sticks, and Panels toys. They are crazy elaborate, in fact a whole cityscape set back-drop is offered, droool. I had to see what the figures were about so I bought a basic basic starter set.

So, Basic it only comes with two bricks. Really the set is all about Batman. I was hoping to get The Joker instead, but he comes with Robin, doh.

The bricks are pretty sturdy, and lock together loudly. The figures feet can snap onto the bricks. I wouldn't mind a full set now, but something tells me these are going to be on clearance eventually, so maybe I will wait for awhile.

Earlier Batman and the Riddler were sharing a strange Dance. Their arms are pretty tight, at first, as is their neck joints. Cute paint aps, the Ridder looks like Joaquin Phoenix (who I keep finding likeliness too, but at least the Riddler is still a man).

And apparently, Lego Batman does not like TRIO Batman at all!

DC Super Friends Hero World Batman and The Joker

Sometimes it pays to walk the extra mile at Toys R Us to see what else is cooking. I've had my eyes on these DC Super Friends for awhile, and with some B-Day money burning I picked up Batman and the Joker. After buying such nice but "Dainty" Batman figures, I needed some toys ready for more rough and tough action.

Batman is solid, full of padding and big boots. He has a Bat-a-rang of course, which he throws pretty well by a dial on his back. He also comes with a Jet-Bat-Pack, that is meh-okay. The wings pop up for flight action.

The Joker is silly as usual. He comes with a Pie thrower, which is a funny idea.

The Joker's better feature is his flip up tie gun, by dial on his back. It works really well, and is pretty unique change of weapon. Yes, it does leave a gapping hole in his chest, but its a flip up tie gun!

Batman, Look out!

I must not of got the Pie Defense Batman.

Batman Through the Ages, an Action Figure Gift Set; Classic Batman AKA: Old Man Batman

You would think a Batman through the ages set, would have a modern Batman. Instead you get a Batman that has lived through the ages. This guy is ripe with over his prime years, and reeks of knee blowing out after rooftop landing.

A hell of a figure, very John Wayne -esque. He takes no sh!#, and even has the time to kick Super Friend Batman's ass.

I'm not saying I hate him, in fact he's totally bad for the collection. He will make sure every figure is up to code, and justice served. I just hope he doesn't blow a hip bone with those over extended muscles.

He's the tallest of the group, but agile? He might need to work behind a desk, or pull a neck muscle lifting that cape.

Don't even think of doing the reverse shoulder joke tap on this guy, he will break your finger off.

Batman Through the Ages, an Action Figure Gift Set; Super Friends Batman

Super Friends Batman is exactly that, a super friend version of Batman. This is the guy you want cooking at your summer Bar-b-Q. This is the guy to get your cat out of a tall tree. This is the guy to talk to you about using too many prescription drugs.

I have never seen a more friendlier Batman, with such soft and comforting features. He would probably befriend any villain into a nice guy.

Strange that they gave the figure fists vs. a nice open hand for handshakes. I just want to give him a big hug and say thanks Batman for placing those safety signs all over the park.

Job well done Batman! Next up, Classic "Old Man" Batman...
