Top Five toys of 2005!

#1 Optimus Prime: Cybertron

Most fun with Prime I have had in years. Great design, playability, and homage to the original.

#2 Star Wars Attacktix

Everything from the Revenge of the Sith toy lines were great this year. Too great, I spent waaaay more then I should. But heck this is the last time right? Attacktix put a new spin on Star Wars toys for me, and truely created a monster inside for collecting. The grab bag style of boxes is just mean (at least let me see one out of the three).

#3 Snake Eyes from GI Joe Sigma Six.

What a great new direction for GI Joe toys, a fussion between old and somewhat old to make new! The package design in itself is a work of art (and nasty to open too). I can't wait to find a Cobra Commander!

#4 Batman Begins

Nice collection of figures and accessories. The joints are plentiful and the Dark Knight looks like he did in the flick.

#5 Mega Block's Magnetic Knights

I am entertained with these things. So very original with the joints being magnets, you can pose them in a 1000 and 1 ways!

What will 2006 bring? probably bankruptcy. I'm thinking about giving myself a small budget for the year, or maybe a small limit (only three boxes of series three attacktix!!!) so I can keep things in perspective. Perhaps this blog will keep me in check.

Happy New Year!

Building a Stikfa 101.

This was much harder than I ever expected. I had no idea how much my hands sweat. Where to start with this thing. You need an exact-o knife to cut it out of the plastic sheets. Then with some patience...

The torso assembles to the waist!

After much cursing and swearing the leg and arm joints can be added.

It looks like I missed his elbow and knee joints so I had to go backwards!

There all done and complete!

Wait a second...

His head seems so small...

OH! Whoops!

There we go! All done!

I'll have to customize next time!

2006 Bionicle's are Bizarre!

Meet Bionicle-Piraka, Zaktan, "The Snake"

This guy is just weird. Just weird. Where to start? They shoot flourescent spheres now, that go a pretty good distance, so that is a good thing. They have a complicated mask attached backbone which seems to fall off easy, so that is a bad thing. They have huge white pearly teeth that makes them look really happy, scary, or maybe silly? The container comes with an extra mask that does not snap onto the Bionicles head, wasting a good mask (it would have been a perfect replacement for the mask/backbone system if you didn't want to use it). The green guy has scissor hands, cool, but will they teach kids (and me) the wrong lessons? Their heads light up when you press a button, but don't all toys do that now a days? Overall I'm not too impressed. 1st and 3rd generation Bionicles are still the very best. This one might make a better villian.

I have been chosen to build an Army of Darkness.

Always fun to build an army! One of the nice things my friends and family did for me this Christmas was to give me toys from new toy lines that I didn't collect before, thus destroying my financial freedom for the next year. Its only months away now that I will buy thousands of Deadites, GI Joe Sigma 6's, and sweaters! Well maybe not sweaters, sorry mom.

Three very cool X-mas gifts!

Every one should have a pair of warm slippers! These Homer Simpson heads will keep my feet toasty-warm. They also are very humorous, like they are eating my feet.

Always wanted to play with a Stikfa, but I have to build it first. I will need a few more days.

And How about these new GI Joes! Wow. The show might be lame but the figures are great. Snake eyes here is all set for the mission but Duke is still trying to find the perfect weapon.

A very Snake Eyes Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Snake Eyes wanted to post some pictures of the special day!

Snake Eyes reunites with the old blind fellow who nursed him back to health from the first GI Joe miniseries.

Finishing up the Batmobile die-cast-athon...

The Tim Burtin Movie's Batmobile is simply the best. Hard to believe Batman lets Mighty Max do repair work on it (I get a kick out of Bat's eyes in this pic).

Mattelmobile

Funny, if this blog does random toys on Dan's shelf, what are the odds small die-cast Batmobiles keep coming up?

When Mattel got the Batman license from Hasbro the first thing they did was to create a Batmobile toy that could cause bloody neck lacerations to kids necks from the overly sharp tail fins on the back of the car. Most were recalled, too bad, that would have been an interesting experiment on the blog. The Batmobile itself was a neat design because it was one of the first ones in a long time to hold both Batman And Robin. I would gladly pay extra cash for a larger Batmobile toy that did everything then a simple one seater car that only fires the standard projectile out the front.

That really long Batmobile from the Animated series.

The Batmobile from the Animated series had a nice streamline feel to it. It gave the impression that there was a really big jet engine under its hood along with lots of fantastic gadgets. It was hard to get good shots of it however, due to its extreme length. The top picture looks like a regular Batmobile, but from this rare side view you can clearly see that the animators got a little carried away.

Oh the Tumbler, You wouldn't be interested in that!

It took me awhile to get used to the new Batmobile, but realistically speaking this one would work best. It really looks like something that could bounce all around a city landscape. And unlike most Batmobiles, it won't ground out on a small speed bump or curb.

Crooze Hot Wheels Batmobile

They call it the 'Crooze Batmobile.' Batman gets all the best mobiles. I like how the spoiler is so far off the back it almost touches the ground. Maybe it flips up heavy rocks like a catapult?

Funny how if you darken the exposure it almost looks like a cat instead of a bat. It also looks like it has two eyes of Sauron on it.

Snowy weather with GI Joe Valor Frostbite

GI Joe Frostbite took advantage of the two inches of snow today. Too bad it started to rain, probably won't last too long.

Inspector Gadget Mcdonalds Happy Meal Fire extinguisher gadget arm.

This arm always comes in handy when I'm cooking or burning old Godzilla toys in the backyard. It holds a good amount of water and shoots pretty far too. It stings a little when switching it with your real arm though.

Star Wars Attacktix Red Royal Ruards (Guards) are Really Rad!

I got a Royal Guard on E-bay for .99 cents! The shipping was about 3.99. So I'm not sure who won. I guess the Red Royal Guard did. So are these guys clones underneith? Or the best of the best alien fighters? Or droids? I don't read too many of the books to know. I just like how they always play the silent role in the movies.

100th Post, 100th Kenner Batman!

So the Toy Museum is 100 posts long! I bet you think I'm running out of toys?! Bwa-Ha-ha, suuurrre. In honor of todays feat, I post a picture of my treasured 100th edition Batman figure. I wonder if Mattel will continue this line? Or did they? I dunno.

Batman Animated Bruce Wayne flourescent Orange Bat suit! Where is he! I Can't see him!

Normally I don't like bright orange flourescent bat suits, but this one is an exception. I actually have a normal black version somewhere, yet I would rather have fun with this one.

Note: I like how the picture has some Star Trek effects going. I should have put a little beard on one of the batmans.

Oh, and thanks to my friend Kirk for the cool link, my training should begin in January.

Anakin's First Jedi Lesson.

Floating your cloak as to make it appear if someone is inside.

Most geeks have an Enterprise hanging in their room...

But mine was destroyed by a Romulan Warbird!!!

This is nothing compared to the embarassing display I used to have at my parents house. I had a very large scale DS9 star trek display going on in my secret basement hide out. It actally still stands, I will have to bring my camera with me next time I go give homage.

And what is with those UGLY 70's yellow mustard blinds! I have to tare those down one of these days.

Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars part 2

I watched part two of the Clone Wars tonight. Wow, what a show! Genndy Tartakovsky is a genious! Just like Samuri Jack, Clone Wars is fast, powerfull, and fun! And Finally my question of why Grievous is coughing at the begining of Episode III is answered! Go to your nearest store and find this DVD. Or rent it I guess, but you'll want to watch it over and over and over and over and over and over again!

Darn, even more stock footage...

Darn Riddler is always up to no good!

How to make the Invisible Women Invisible

When I completed my Fantastic Four collection the other day I was dissappointed in the fact that the Invisible Women toy can't really go invisible. That was until I found the invisibility button on the bottom of her base, and a little help form the brightness/contrast button.

Thats right, add more brightness.

Now quickly, Move the brightness the otherway, the darker the better.

All Done! She's invisible! Wow! That pose is inappropriate for the blog!

Fun Fact: This was my hands first appearance on my blog.

Revenge of the Sith toys, Better joints! Obi-Wan Kenobi moves

I finally opened one of the new Revenge of the Sith toys the other day. Wow, have they improved on joints! Some are hidden pretty well too. Check out Obi-Wan Kenobi as he demonstrates his new flexibility. Here is a good standard pose.

Now look what these new figures can do! Wait...Wait...Obi-Wan wants to top that...

Wow! Now that is a great pose.

Whoops! Looks like he hurt his back on that one.

A Bad back is no laughing matter. More Jedi training is needed.

I can't cook.

Darn it! I just can't cook. Even my latest grilled cheese somehow flared up into the Human Torch.

Some lucky splurging today.

For once I bought an Attacktix booster pack that didn't contain a Chewbacca! As I said earlier, Kit Fisto was a favorite Jedi of mine. How does he get his dread-alien-locks to do that? It's nice to actually have a Clone Commander that is labeled right. My other one is tagged as a Neimodian guard. Jango is always welcome (anyone ever beat Bounty Hunter for Gamecube or PS2, I can't get my way out of the Spice Factory yet, that place is way too dangerous, too many super high cliffs, jumps, skiffs, and bad guys. I keep thinking I near the end...then i find another room of torture). And kicking Obi-won is Great! Its nice to have an Attacktix that doesn't use the traditional methods for attack. It's funny too because he spins awkwardly around on his hips sometimes making it look like he has a massive leg injury. Play on!

Lego Sphinx surprise wonders!

Today we have the professor and his associates opening the great Sphinx Lego tomb for the first time. It has been said vast treaures are inside.

It looks like the professor's evil assistant has become greedy and is going for the forbidden jewel on the front of the tomb. Lets hope this does not harm the opening of this great tomb.

Oh My GOD! The Mummy has been released! This is Horrible!

Oh NO! It looks like the Mummy is in league with the SITH! Thats Count Dooku behind him! Run Professor Run!

AHHHH! Dooku just sliced the professor! How horrible, this was not supposed to happen at all! Wait is that Luke Skywalker? IT IS!
